Permanent Makeup, micropigmentation or tattoo can be removed using laser and non laser techniques. We’re Permanent Makeup and tattoo removal experts covering different techniques. With so many two day Microblading / Micropigmentation classes promising to train people with no previous makeup or Permanent Makeup experience the volume of bad work is increasing and clients are coming to us for removal.
Often people are told that microblading, Micropigmentation or semipermanent makeup is not a Tattoo, this is not true. If done correctly it sits in the epidermis and will fade in 12 to 24 months but if done deep, it will be a permanent tattoo and that’s where we can help.
We offer laser and non laser removal treatments
Saline and Glycolic Acid Removal fall under the category of non laser removal. They’re done by opening the skin and using saline or glycolic acid to bond with the ink particles by making a scab that will then take the ink with it. This method removes the ink in the same way it was implanted.
We use non laser as a compliment to laser treatments and not a replacement. This is a LIGHTENING rather than a REMOVAL method. Any sort of non laser removal involves opening the skin to get to the implanted pigment. This method is far more aggressive than laser, which does not touch the epidermis. We usually use this method when dealing with flesh or white colour pigment. During your consultation we will advise you if this is right method for you. We use both methods and we can advise you the best method for your individual case.
How does the laser remove the tattoo or semi permanent makeup?
The laser breaks down the ink particles in the tattoo or semi permanent makeup. The broken down ink is absorbed by the body and carried out through the body’s lymphatic system.
How many treatments will it take to remove a tattoo? On average, tattoos require 8 – 12 sessions, with the session being 6 – 8 weeks apart. Semi permanent makeup require less treatments. The amount of time required for the removal of a tattoo or semi permanent makeup and the success of the removal varies with each individual. It depends on skin type, skin sensitivity, colour and amount of ink.
Does the laser remove coloured tattoos?
Dark pigments, blue and black or red inks will resolve the best. Oranges, purples and yellows usually fade as well. Green inks are the most difficult to remove, and additional treatments such a saline or glycolic are needed.
Will the tattoo completely disappear?
In many cases, yes. More than 95% fading of the tattoo may be achieved. It is important to know that there are many types of tattoo inks in use worldwide today. Not knowing which tattoo ink was used, or how deeply it was applied, makes it impossible to predict removal on any tattoo or semi permanent makeup.
Is it painful? Yes it is painful. It feels similar to a burn sensation. We use a topical anaesthetic cream and Apply it 30 min before the treatment.
Laser Post treatment care
During the healing process, apply the cream to the area 2 – 3 times a day. If it has a burning sensation, you may apply an ice pack. A shower can be taken, although the treated area should never be scrubbed. If a scab forms it is vital that you do not pick it or scratch it. Occasionally, there will be pinpoint bleeding associated with the treatment. We ask that you do not cover the area with anything. You may also get tiny blisters, this is perfectly normal. Do not pop the blisters. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds during the healing process.
Nonlaser post treatment care
The aftercare of Saline or Glycolic Acid Tattoo Removal is more complicated than laser. You will need to keep the area dry and allow the scab to fall off on it’s own.
